Milkshakes and delicious dinner at SNCKBR WEST, Amsterdam with May Leong and Leon Korobacz.

When you say, 'Snackbar' in Holland, it simply means having a snack at well known fast food chains. Well, SNCKBR WEST in Amsterdam begs to differ. It is simply one of the healthiest and yummiest food I ever had in Holland. I was here last year and now I'm back again hehe.

Well, we did a little cheeky SNCKBR treat, even the vegan freakshakes are free of additives. Using soymilk as base, we are loving the Tha Sugadaddy and The Macho Mango. Who doesn't love whipped coconut cream, raw cacao and fruity mango in their milkshakes?

For dinner, we kicked off with the Chef's Platter, which consists of the Hummus Superbowl (super yum), Aubergine Canneloni and Falafel. The pita bread that came with were so soft and fluffy, they go so well with the hummus and falafel. Loving it!

We had the Meat Platter and Fish of the Day, served with salad on the side. Everything was just fresh and beautifully cooked, I was so happy I returned to SNCKBR and am looking forward to have another feast the next time I'm in Amsterdam again.

It was a short stopover in Bangkok for a good 6 hours, and we had planned to have a little siesta at Grand Hyatt Bangkok Erawan.

Grand Hyatt Bangkok is located in the heart of Bangkok, located on Rajdamri Road. It's interconnected to bars, restaurants and Bangkok's top shopping malls.

My little tip to getting into Bangkok city from the Suvarnambhumi International Airport is to always check the traffic on Google Map before hopping on a cab or Uber. We saved up so much time by catching the public transport to Chit Lom Skytrain station. It was a short stroll into Grand Hyatt Bangkok.

Our room was cosy. Loving the Queen size bed with a view of the bustling streets of Bangkok. There was even two elephants (sculpted from hand towels... how very cute!) to welcome us to our Grand Hyatt room. Soft sheets and fluffy pillows, we felt very much at home.

Our favourite has got to be dinner time at Erawan Tea Room for an authentic Thai cuisine. Scroll down to the next blog post to read all about it.

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is a place to relax and dream away. I love how close it is to KLCC Twin Towers and Pavillion. Just 9 minutes walk away!

It was a wow factor when I arrived to the lobby on Level 36. It's a 360 degree walk up there. For all guests to view the cityscape of Kuala Lumpur.

I look forward to waking up every morning to the Twin Towers view. And I must say, I'm a HUGE fan ofthe breakfast buffet. I simply love good food, and I tried everything from local street food, nasi lemak and roti canai to Middle Eastern dips (mmm, that Baba Ganoush) to waffles and pancakes. And of course, there's always English Breakfast with sunny side up eggs and sausages.

The Grand Hyatt breakfast were all yum! The fruit counter was always busy, with beautifully sliced fresh tropical fruits on the platter. And I could not get enough of the fresh fruit juices (especially mango lassi).

Our room was gorgeous. Loving the King size bed with the full view of KLCC Twin Towers. We felt very much at home, as the layout of our spacious Grand Hyatt room feels like an apartment.

And there is no reason to leave Grand Hyatt really, as there is a big pool, a spa, a sauna and a steamer room to just chill in. I could stay here forever!

Thank you for the great hospitality, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Looking forward to the next one!

Bubu Long Beach

Thinking of the next holiday destination to visit when in Malaysia? I'm loving a little vacation spot we visited at Perhentian Island on the east coast of Malaysia.

Just a 30 minute boat ride away from Kuala Besut (a cute and sleepy town in Terengganu), we headed off to Bubu Long Beach on Perhentian Island Kecil.

Bubu Long Beach is a small paradise located on a white, sandy beach. Leon and I loved taking walks, past beach hut cafes and chalets along the way. The snorkelling is fantastic at Perhentian Island. There are barracuda, parrot fish and even little "Nemos" hiding in the coral or  swimming close to the beach shore. Snorkelling and diving trips can be easily arranged at the resort or at one of the many stalls on along long beach.

My favourite part about Bubu Long Beach Resort are the freshly baked croissants and espresso for breakfast and one can't forget the Cocktail Hour in the evening, a real highlight. From 5pm  they offer guests a range of free drinks including cocktails, how good is that?  My favourite Bubu drink was the 'Tinggi-Tinggi', made of a delicious concoction of local fruit juice.

We had a room with great views overlooking the garden and beach below, a beautiful place to wake every morning before a day of fun activities; snorkelling in the amazing reefs or putting your feet up in  beach chair under an umbrella.

Bubu we'll miss you and we cant wait to come back!

My family and I checked into Lanson Place, Bukit Ceylon in Kuala Lumpur on a week day. We were just over in the capital city of Malaysia, before heading off to the islands on the East Coast. Lanson Place is a multi-award winning complex of serviced residences, with a beautiful view of the cityscape.

I’m loving the modern and sophisticated interior of Lanson Place. It is plush and I feel very much at home. Spacious kitchen and dining area to cook and eat with my family. My favourite has got to be the lounge room for reading.

We had a delicious buffet breakfast. It was wonderful. The setting was intimate. We got to enjoy the view of KLCC while eating our freshly cooked omelette and eggs. There was also a wide selection of yummy pastries, smoked salmon, pastries, breads and a generous selection of cheeses. The cappuccino was tops

I’ve always wanted to stay the night overlooking KLCC Twin Towers, and thank you for having us, Lanson Place. It was a dream come true! A plush and spacious 2 bedroom apartment, a perfect place to relax and unwind with the family.

Have a great day all.

My Stay At Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu

 Summer days at Shangri-La Mactan

Summer days at Shangri-La Mactan

It is always such a lovely experience staying at Shangri-La anywhere in the world. Everyone at Shangri-La will always tell you this, "Welcome to Paradise." And it is true.

Every Shangri-La that I've been too, since I was a kid with my family, has the same feel good feeling. And I loved it!

My time at Shangri-La Mactan Resort with my partner in-crime, Leon Korobacz (@hungrysydneysiders) was wonderful!

Having fresh local fruits by the poolside is one of my favourite thing to do. I'm obsessed with the sweet mangoes and pineapples. And, there are so many pools in this resort. There's a pool for everyone (and I must say the kids pool are the best, it comes with fun slides).

My favourite has got to be breakfast (there will always be a flatlay) and I'm always up for local cuisine. Leon (@hungrysydneysiders) and I tried the sweet dessert called Puto Maya.

This Filipino street food is just yum! The staff at Shangri-La Mactan had them in many shapes and sizes. Called Puto Maya, it is made of glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves. The locals eat it with mangoes and sikwate (a hot chocolate drink).

For the adventurous, danggit, is a must try Filipino cuisine. Think of fish heads, paired with sausages and sweet dipping sauce of sliced red onions. It was definitely and interesting treat!

All afternoon was spent chilling out on the beach and infinity pool at Shangri-La Mactan. We even went for a ski jet ride. I never imagined in a million years I'll be driving a ski jet. But I did it! I went as far as 20KM per hour, which is a bit cray for me.

Thank you for the most amazing time at Shangri-La Mactan. It was a tropical paradise and we hope to return someday!

The Premier Suite of Shangri-La at the Fort

Shangri-La at the Fort's Premier Suite

Shangri-La at the Fort's Premier Suite

We arrived in Manila in the evening from Coron island, about an hour away from the capitol city of the Philippines. After a week of island hopping and sipping cocktails on the beach, Leon (@hungrysydneysiders) and I kind of miss the city life.

At the airport, we were greeted by a friendly face, a gentleman dressed in a maroon uniform from Shangri-La. We were taken to our pickup.

We checked into our very first Premier Suite at Shangri-La and mind I say, it was love at first sight. There's everything we need. In all honesty, I was expecting just a bedroom as we were flying out in 6 hours back to Sydney.

My favourite room has got to be the bathroom. I could live there all my life, with a gorgeous bathtub I can have hot bubble bathes and pretty tiles to stare at all day.

The Shangri-La at the Fort's team knew I love dessert so much, they took me down to the kitchen where all the magic happens! I was so impressed. The patisserie chefs make absolutely everything, from macarons to cake pops to pavlovas. Everyone in the kitchen was encouraged to play and to dream up all sorts of dessert creation. It was a dream come true!

I'm looking forward to returning to Shangri-La at the Fort. I'm obsessed with their mouth-watering desserts and I cannot wait to try them all next time!

6 hours is a short and sweet kind of stay. Cheers to Shangri-La at the Fort for a memorable experience in Manila.

Paalam Manila! Sa muling pagkikita... (Goodbye Manila! See you again...)
